What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator that can be used to restore facial volume lost due to the aging process. It is produced by Galderma, a reference in the development of products aimed at skin health and beauty.
Contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production. Sculptra offers long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years.
What can be treated with the biostimulator?
It can be used to treat deep lines, folds, wrinkles to give a more youthful appearance. It is also used to treat facial fat loss (lipoatrophy).
It has been clinically approved to treat the face frame, promoting a facial lifting effect and a consequent lifting effect, with firmer, brighter skin and fewer expression lines. Sculptra is not recommended for use on the eyes or lips.
Additionally, it is used for body treatments such as:
-
Non-surgical buttock lift or augmentation;
-
Cellulite correction;
-
Improvement of sagging thighs, abdomen and arms.
It is also a popular choice for those looking to create definition and the appearance of extra muscle mass in the glutes, thighs, biceps, triceps and chest.
How is the procedure performed?
The procedure is carried out in the office by a qualified healthcare professional. No pre-testing is required for treatments and you can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment.
No special preparation is required, but for greater comfort, topical anesthetic or facial anesthesia may be used.
After planning, the injection process itself will only take a few minutes. Once the injections are complete, you can resume your normal activities.
Results before and after Sculptra:
Some results can be seen after the first treatment, but full results take a few weeks. The process typically consists of three application sessions over three or four months. Results can last up to two years.
Adverse effects of Sculptra:
Adverse effects may include swelling, redness, pain, and bruising at the injection site.
What will Sculptra’s investment be?
The cost depends on several factors, including:
-
Amount of correction required to achieve the desired result;
-
Number of treatment appointments required;
-
Number of Sculptra bottles used;
-
Chosen healthcare professional.
